School visits

Since the commencement of the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024, Sohar University has continued to host students from various schools in the North Al Batinah Governorate on its campus as part of the community service that the institution delivers to all sectors of society. So far, 38 schools, or around 1,300 students, have been visited the University.

The program comprised an introduction to various programs and academic degrees, as well as an orientation to the university’s numerous facilities and services.

It is also worth noting that the university conducts field visits to schools in collaboration with the General Directorate of Education, where Sohar University academics provide workshops and lectures to students and employees in Al Batinah North, Al Batinah South, and Al Buraimi Governorate based on their needs. So far, 17 lectures have been delivered.

Sohar University also took part in the introduction forum for higher education institutions 2023/2024 in Al Dhahirah Governorate, with Sultanate higher education institutions. In addition to the university’s participation in the “for them a forum” event held at Arwa School in Saham, Sohar University contributed to the School Administrations Forum on Artificial Intelligence held at Hala Bint Khuwailid Schools in Al Batinah South Governorate, and the Balqees School, where Dr. Falah Hamodi and Dr. Furqan Alam from the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology held a workshop entitled Artificial Intelligence in Management. The event was aimed at school administrators, with 23 schools from Al Batinah North Governorate participating.
