تخرج الدكتور الزبير من جامعة تون حسين أون ماليزيا وحاصل على درجة الدكتوراه في تكنولوجيا المعلومات. قبل انضمامه إلى جامعة صحار كأستاذ مساعد في كلية الحاسبات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، أكمل دراسته الثانية لما بعد الدكتوراه كباحث أول في مركز الحوسبة اللينة وتعدين البيانات بماليزيا. شغل أيضًا منصب أستاذ مساعد في لاهور في باكستان. د. سيد لدية أكثر من 50 مقالة بحثية منشورة في مجلات دوليه محكمة، حيث تشمل اهتماماته البحثية الذكاء الاصطناعي، وتطوير الألعاب، والرؤية الحاسوبية، وإنترنت الأشياء.
