Second place in the Table Tennis Tournament goes to Sohar University

About the Activity

The Student Activities Department of Sohar University took part in the table tennis event for colleges and universities, which took place on March 3 in the main hall of the Bausher Sports Complex. The Omani Committee for University Sports assisted Majan University College in organising the event, which featured participation from more than 12 colleges and universities.

Meshaal Al-Shehhi and Mohammed Al-Balushi, both students at Sohar University, won second place in the doubles division of a table tennis event for higher education institutions under Mr. Taher Al-Shukaili, the university's sports activities supervisor, who was in charge of the competition.

Taher said this about this tournament: "The tournament put on by Majan University College was a great competition between the colleges and universities that took part. There were a lot of people there, and the players played at a high level. This tournament gave us a chance to see how good the players were at our institutions and put us in touch with people from other institutions, which gave us more experience.

This is on top of the fact that these news stories help raise the profile of Sohar University among the best universities in the Sultanate. Through this event, the parts of the Sultanate's national team that will go to the People's Republic of China for the World Championship for Higher Education Institutions have been chosen.

I would also like to thank Sohar University for supporting student programs and encouraging students to participate in competitions and events that enable them to develop as individuals, acquire new skills, and acquire more experience."

The recent university-level table tennis competition held at Sohar University exceeded all expectations by emerging as a colossal triumph on all fronts. Participants embraced this opportunity wholeheartedly by competing against stiff competition, demonstrating how seriously Sohar University takes student development by providing such valuable lessons outside of the classroom. Obviously, all of the credit for the success of this tournament goes to the hard work of each participant, as well as the unwavering support of the faculty and staff, who were instrumental in its success.
