On Wednesday, 17 October, Sohar University celebrated the Omani Women's Day in the training hall of the Learning Resources Building, under the patronage of Dr. Yasmin Al Balushi, Dean of Muscat College and a member of the Board of Trustees of Muscat University, and in the presence of Dr. Mohammed Al-Maqbali, PVC for Student Affairs & Engagement at Sohar University and a large number of female staff.
The ceremony started with an operetta about Omani Women's Day presented by a number of students from Al-Ishraq School for Basic Education. Dr. Mohammed Al-Maqbali delivered a speech at the university on this occasion, in which he congratulated the university female employees and all women in Oman. He then honored the sponsor of the event and the participants in the ceremony activities. Later, Dr. Yasmine Al Balushi, Dean of Muscat College, presented the success story of “Women in Leadership Positions”, where she addressed the challenges she faced in her life and how she overcome them.Dr. Zubaida Al Balushi from Law Faculty at Sohar University also talked about women in Omani law. Besides, Ms. Khawla Al-Hinai, Head of the Working Women Committee, spoke about the General Federation of Oman Workers achievements in regards to the working women law in the Private Sector.
