SU participates in the Oman Collegiate Programming Contest 2022

Sohar University participated in the 10th edition of Oman Collegiate Programming Contest 2022. This event was organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology with the support of the Oman Telecommunications Company (Omantel) as a technical partner. The contest was hosted by Sultan Qaboos University, the academic partner, from 30-31 October.

The contest targeted students of computer science and information technology from higher education institutions in the field of programming in the category of designing algorithms and applying them to any of the high-end programming languages such as Java, C Plus, and C.

80 teams participated in the contest; each team included 3 students and a coach who is working in the same institution. Each institution participated in two official teams and a one unofficial team.

The main aims of the contest are to prepare a generation of young people with technical skills that qualify them to meet the needs of the labor market, develop problem-solving and logical thinking skills, learn about the latest algorithms and applications, train participants to work under pressure and teamwork, and form virtual work groups.
