Malaysia Tour: Honoring SU's Outstanding Students

About the Programme

Sohar University, in its commitment to recognizing and honoring its outstanding students, recently launched an initiative that has captured the attention of the entire student body. This initiative entails organising a tour to the Federal Kingdom of Malaysia, providing six exceptional students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to embark on an extraordinary journey. The 11-day tour, meticulously planned and executed by the university, promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, comprising a vast array of scientific, touristic, and recreational pursuits.

This prestigious group's leader is the esteemed Manager of the Student Activities Department, who has been designated to head the delegation. A dedicated administrator accompanies the manager to ensure the coordination and facilitation of all aspects of the tour. Together, they will mentor and assist the six exceptional students, who have demonstrated exemplary dedication and commitment in their respective academic disciplines.

Main aim of the visit

Visiting the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Kuala Lumpur is one of the highlights of the excursion. This visit serves as a symbol of the strong ties between Oman and Malaysia and affords the students a rare opportunity to connect with their native country while exploring the cultural landscape of Malaysia. The visit to the embassy affords students the opportunity to interact with diplomats, facilitating cultural exchange and enhancing their knowledge of diplomatic relations.

The itinerary also includes a stop at the University of Malaysia, which is renowned for its academic excellence and research capabilities. The students will have the unique opportunity to interact with Malaysian students and faculty, engage in academic discussions, and participate in knowledge-sharing sessions. This exchange of experiences will not only broaden their horizons, but also provide a platform for nurturing international partnerships and collaborations.

The International Islamic University Malaysia is an additional important stop on the tour, providing insight into the intersection of Islamic teachings and contemporary education. Students will gain valuable insights into Islamic studies by witnessing firsthand the university's contributions to fostering a balanced comprehension of Islam in a modern context.

Programme Inclusion

The excursion programme also includes visits to various tourist, scientific, and cultural sites. The students will have the opportunity to explore Kuala Lumpur, a city renowned for its iconic landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers and Batu Caves. They will experience the rich cultural heritage of Malaysia through traditional music, performance, and cuisine.

Beyond the academic and cultural experiences, the purpose of the excursion is to recognise the exceptional achievements of the students. The university recognises the significance of recognising and commemorating the achievements of these students in order to encourage them to continue pursuing excellence and inspire their peers.

The trip to the Federal Kingdom of Malaysia combines education, culture, and leisure in a unique way. It functions as a catalyst for personal growth and development in addition to providing a forum for academic and cultural exchange. The students will return to Sohar University with a greater comprehension of the world, expanded knowledge in their respective fields, and lifelong memories.
