
VC of SU: A new batch of graduates who have the tools to go forth and become a world changer!
Graduates: We reaffirm our commitment to use our knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of Oman.
On Wed evening, 4thJanuary, Sohar University celebrates the graduation of its 21st batch of graduates under the patronage of his excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense in Al Irfan Hall - Oman Convention and Exhibition Center.
The number of graduates of this batch reached 1,639 students from the six faculties of the university, who hold master’s degrees, bachelor’s, diplomas, and educational qualification diplomas.
Dr. Hamdan Al-Fazari, VC of SU, delivered his speech, in which he said, "Today, Sohar University is introducing its 21st batch of graduates (1,639 graduates) who have the tools to go forth and become a world changer!".
He added, "Dear graduates, your role now is to use your knowledge and skills to build your country and society. Have faith in Allah, trust yourself and seek out the tools and education to develop yourself. Always look at the bright side of life, seize opportunities and leave no room for boredom. Be creative and take advantage of your abilities and skills. Build good relations with your families, the university and society. I have no doubt that you will contribute in developing your country under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - May God protect him - who took over as an innovator of the renaissance".
He ended his speech with congratulating the graduates and their parents again and wishing them good luck with the future ahead.
After that, the student Fatima Al-Amri from the Faculty of Engineering gave a speech to the graduates: "it’s such a great feeling! After a long time, here we are now. Full of joys and happiness proud of what we had accomplished. Reaping the fruit of our patience and sacrifice. We are so proud to be graduates of Sohar University.” She added, “We reaffirm our commitment to use our knowledge and skills to contribute to the development of Oman".
Later, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Al Zaabi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense, honored a total of 38 students who scored the highest academic grades from all university majors.
At the end, His Excellency handed over the certificates to the graduates of the 21st batch of SU students. The number of graduates of this batch reached 1,639 students from the six faculties of the university: 376 graduates from the Faculty of Education and Arts, 195 graduates from the Faculty of Engineering, 513 from the Faculty of Business, 248 from Faculty of Computing & IT, 218 from Faculty of Language Studies, and 89 graduates from the Faculty of Law.
