Dr. Musa bin Salem Al Barashdi from the Faculty of Education and Arts at the University received the Cultural Creativity Award for 2021 as the best publication in historical studies for the book "The Political Role of Omani Scholars from 1034 AH/1624 AD-1162 AH/1749 AD".
The book "The Political Role of The Scholars of Oman" deals with an important stage of Omani history. The book includes three main chapters that deal with the role of scholars in establishing the state and then their role in the conducting of its work. Finally, the books also discussed scholars' position on the political crises of the late period and their role in transferring authority from the Ya'ariba family to the ruling Al-Busaid family when Ahmed bin Saeed al-Busaidi was elected imam of Oman by scholars of that period.
Dr. Mousa holds the position of Assistant Professor at the College of Education and Arts at the University. He has many published studies, and he participates in seminars and conferences related to the historical and educational fields and participation in many television and television radio interviews.
