Theater Festival at Sohar University
Every year Sohar University (SU) organizes Theatre Festival to promote the culture of theatre in the university and other higher education institutes.
- It serves as a platform for theatre practitioners to showcase their work, receive feedback, and connect with other like-minded individuals.
- The festival provides an opportunity for the university’s students to immerse themselves in the world of theatre.

The 11th Theater Festival
Coinciding with the 20th Student Week, SU launched its 11th Theater Festival.
- The festival was scheduled to take place on Sunday evening, March 12, 2023.
- It was held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh/Muhammad bin Abdullah Al Busaidi, Governor of Sohar.
- A number of higher education institutions participated in the festival.
- The organizing committee of this festival invited highly esteemed theatre figures to join their judging and criticism committees, which elevated the festival to a new level of excellence.
Prestigious Status of SU's Theatre
This festival is an indication of the success that was achieved in the previous festivals and the active participation of SU in the Cairo International Festival. Out of the 70 theatrical performances at the Cairo International Festival, 13 were selected to perform. SU was one of them.
This is a testament to the fact that SU's theater has gained a prestigious status and is now highly regarded by the international community. The selection of their performances shows the great respect they have earned in the theatrical world.
