Dr Khaled was awarded his Ph.D. in applied mathematics and computer science from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), North Cyprus, in 2019. In 1998 and 2001, he earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from Applied Science University and Free University of Brussels, respectively. Since 2001, for about twenty years, he has served as a faculty member at several universities, including those in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Northern Cyprus.
Before joining Sohar University in 2021 as an assistant professor, he was serving at one of the colleges in Muscat (Oman) as deputy head of the IT department. Dr Khaled has published a host of papers on Digital Geometry, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing, Multimedia, and Steganography. His current research focuses on semantic textual similarity.
