
Prof. Ahmad Kayed, Dean of the FCIT Faculty at Sohar University, awarded his Ph.D. from one of the best Australian universities (Queensland University, 2003) and worked with Monash University, Australia. Prof. Kayed has been working in both the academic and IT industries for almost thirty years. In the IT industry, he worked as a solutions architect, project manager, general manager, and IT consultant. In academics, Ahmad Kayed worked with Monash University in Australia and supervised more than eight Ph.D. and twenty-five M.Sc. students, created and evaluated several IT-related curricula, several IT programs at the B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. levels, and several IT projects. He worked with several QA university committees for internal and international accreditations. Prof. Kayed has published more than fifty papers in high-impact journals. He is involved in cloud computing, database security, and semantic web research, specifically semantic and conceptual engineering for cloud computing and cloud database security.
